Our community has come together to save, collect and recycling some plastics in order to receive a free bench for the community. The time period is 6 months and the goal is 500 pounds, We just met our first goal of 500 pounds, almost two full months early. We are so excited to start working on our second bench.
It take several volunteers to support this project. We collect the plastic from bins at our clubhouse almost daily. It is then weighed and condensed so that it can be bagged. Then it is taken to a local grocery store for recycling. Each month we log our pounds collected and report it on a website.
If you would like to help, please let us know. We are always looking for more volunteers. We will be dedicating the bench at a later time. As of August 2022 we have earned the four benches and are collecting for additional benches.
